The political party

(Name not yet determined)

I have become member of a political party, which functions via the direct democracy principles.  I have lodged as a citizen's initiative following demand with the party:

the demand to change the law so that

consumers can deduct from their taxable income

the money they spend on goods and services

that have been made in processes

which ensure sustainable development.

By voting for the party in the 2010 or 2011 Federal Elections in Belgium, you determine the number of seats the elected of the Party will occupy in the Senate of Belgium.

You could simultaneously enforce the demand to adapt the law, under specific conditions.  First of all, an action to collect signatures in support of the modification of the law must be initiated.  Technically this means to have a place where e-signatures can be left and administered as in an election campaign.  An IT job, to be done.

When the proposal to adapt the law as we put forward is supported by signatures of 2% of the electorate, then normal majority can start a referendum where every citizen with the right to vote can vote and so determine the point of view of the party.

The party will organise and hold the referendum.

The electorate, who votes for the party, are in support of the realization of the initiatives which the party lodges.  Since there is shortly only one initiative lodged with the party, it would mean that if more than half of the electorate votes for the party in 2010 or 2011, then they are also in favour of adapting the law as proposed.  Can you imagine what would happen if 70% of the Belgian electorate would vote for the party?

The change in law will cause a social big bang.

 Hundreds of millions of consumers

will simultaneously demand goods and services

with which they can live in harmony with Nature.

This demand attracts the energy of research from everywhere.  This energy will be sublimated in the creation of ways of living in harmony with Nature.  Once done, less energy is needed to maintain such coexistence with life.

It is the bang in which the development of the economy takes as sense

 maintain the integrity of Nature.

With your vote, you open a door to ways of living in harmony with Nature, ajar.  You will simultaneously demonstrate the value of Direct Democracy in maintaining integrity in the democratic processes of serving the interests of the population.

You are invited to lodge your support for the party by sending a mail to participant@biosustainable.org with as subject, support for the DD party. Your vote will be listed under Supporters

When the site of the party is operational, the party will incorporate you in its administration as its founding lodgers.  The party will from then on keep track of all the votes it can expect to get in 2010 or 2011.  The moment the number of your votes is reported by the news media, you know that we can start breezing fresh air again, drinking pure water and eating a carrot pulled out of the earth and rinsed in a lake.

In the mean time, you can visit the party at Citizens for Direct Democracy.
